Destination guides
Places we have actually spent time in
Each guide covers when to go, what a realistic daily budget looks like, a day-by-day shape for the trip, and the practical details that decide whether it feels calm or chaotic.
Kyoto
Temple gardens, quiet lanes and a city that rewards early starts
Lisbon
Tiled hills, cheap espresso and a river that keeps appearing
Reykjavík & the Ring Road
Long drives, strange landscapes and weather that writes the plan
Hanoi
Motorbike horns, pavement kitchens and the best cheap meals you will eat
Marrakech
Souks, rooftops and a medina that makes sense after two days
Cusco & the Sacred Valley
High altitude, long views and a valley built for slow travel
No guides in this region yet. We would rather publish nothing than something thin.
Why this list is short
We only publish a destination guide once we have enough notes to answer the boring questions: how much a taxi should cost, which area is worth sleeping in, what closes on a Monday. That means the list grows slowly, and a country may appear once rather than five times.
If you need somewhere that is not listed, ask us. Sometimes we have notes that have not become a full guide yet, and we will tell you when we do not know.
Coming next
Ljubljana, Porto and northern Thailand
In progress. No publish date promised — we would rather be late than thin.
